I wanted to send a quick email to let you know that I took your stop smoking class at the Discovery Center January 12. Yesterday marked 21 days of being smoke free! Just to give you a little insight. I was going on 21 years of smoking (I started as a teenager) and logically, I knew I needed to quit. However, I loved smoking so much that I did not think I was emotionally ready. About two minutes before your class, I stood outside finishing (actually relishing) a cigarette, talking on the phone to a friend. My friend rattled off 15 reasons why I should hate smoking. My friend was trying to be helpful, but I could feel my anger rising. I told her the worst thing you can do to a smoker is try to bully them into quitting; we just get defensive! I told her the best I could hope for from your class was that you might be able to help me WANT to quit. Before your stop smoking class I had no true interest in quitting. But after that night’s class, something magical happened! I walked out a non-smoker and have never looked back. It’s so weird—I have never not wanted to smoke. I know it’s only been 21 days, but what is different is that I have absolutely no interest in smoking. I barely recognize myself. I have been sharing my success story with anybody that may be inspired to change.
Thanks for the wonderful CD; it helps me a lot. Whenever I am stressed out, I listen to your CD and get very relaxed. When I open my eyes, my stress is gone!
I took your class last fall and listened to your CD nightly for about 6-8 weeks. I started working out with a personal trainer in Jan and have lost 40 lbs, “easily and effortlessly.” I changed my diet, found much better concentration with a higher protein diet with almost no cravings, and have maintained my regimen of circuit training and walking. It feels like it just melted away. My initial goal was to be able to get back into my kayak when I went on a sea kayaking trip. So by the middle of March I had lost 20 > lbs. Since then it has been a steady loss of 1-2 lbs every 2-3 weeks. I am so happy to have a strong and slender body. My dad said I look 20 years younger. What a gift. I am certain that the hypnosis that started with the class and continued with the CD made a huge difference in my success. Thank you for your help.
I left your class so relaxed, I felt as if had had a two-hour massage. It was a delicious feeling.
Thank you for helping me at a time when my health was failing. I am grateful to you for your commitment to your work as a result my grave’s disease is still in remission. What a miracle! Peace and joy.
On behalf of our teenage support group and myself, I would like to thank you for your generous donation of time and information. Jay, I was very impressed with your work and continue to think about all the information that came to the surface. What a great gift you have for helping people release their troubles.
I wanted to write you a quick note to thank you and let you know how great I am doing. My panic attacks have almost completely disappeared, and I feel happier and healthier than I have in years! I’ve made a few changes in my life, specifically my diet and I try to do yoga and meditation every day. I feel our session played an integral part in helping me get better. Also, the stretches for my back and shoulders that you suggested seem to be helping a lot with my breathing. I’m running better than ever! I did 5 miles last night effortlessly.
Thank you for your help and time. Just hearing your voice puts me into a relaxed, hypnotic state. Maybe that is why I gain so many insights during our sessions.
Thanks again for your help and generosity. Your talent is amazing. Thanks to you, I truly feel that I am on a better path.
After I broke my wrist I listened to four of Dr. Jay Stone’s customized healing programs nearly every day. I found Dr. Stone’s hypnosis programs to be very relaxing and beneficial. I highly recommend Dr. Stone for his hypnosis skills and knowledge.
Over the many years that I have known Dr Stone he has been an incredible resource for my pregnant patients. I have found him to be very skilled, knowledgeable and an exceptionally caring hypnotherapist. I recommend him whole heartily to my patients as I have done to my own family and friends.
Every year Dr. Stone speaks to my abnormal psychology class on the topic of impulse-control disorders. He is an expert in the clinical application of hypnosis and has many case examples to support his extensive theoretical knowledge. I find his clinical hypnosis lectures extremely worthwhile, very impressive and intriguing. In course evaluations, students also rate Dr. Stone’ presentations very highly.
You are an awesome therapist! I appreciate your honesty, your challenging me to take action and your support. I am definitely feeling better lately.
I’m writing to thank you. I attended your “Lose Weight through Hypnosis” class. I learned a lot about how to use my mind to reshape my body, and the class was enjoyable and relaxing.
I am writing you this note on my fifth anniversary of quitting smoking. On July 25, 2002 I attended a seminar at the Discovery Center and have never had another cigarette. If I can do it, anyone can, but it was not without your help. Keep up the good work.
I just want you to know that referring my own husband to you can be construed as my highest compliment to your competence and compassion. I was really impressed with the kind and knowledgeable way you helped me.
Thank you so much for today’ session. All I can say is, “Wow!” I have never had such an intensely honest therapy session. I surprised myself with all the information I told you. Apparently, I felt safe to do so. You are challenging, yet simultaneously very gentle in your approach.
I am on the mend. Although I wake up two times a night, I am able to get back to sleep, and I am sleeping more deeply than ever before. Last night I feel asleep without any medications. I hope to be completely off my meds soon. Thank you for your help.
The old Hippie, Gabe, is fine. I am totally into pure food, not genetically modified junk. I went to two demonstrations, and I am also making many cool things.
I am still doing my self-hypnosis; I fall straight asleep (good or bad?). Because I fall asleep so quickly, I only get to tell myself one or two things. I’ve had one or two dry nights and I am working on another one.
I am getting a lot of exercise and having some problems, but not many.
Thank you for today’s session. I left feeling like a different person. Your phone call was positive because it helped me overcome my lack of faith.
I want to thank you for all you did for Ted and myself during his terminal illness. You went way out of your way to help and accommodate us so many times, and the crowning glory was when you came to the funeral to pay respects to our family. You will never know how honored we felt and how much we appreciated it.
I took your Past Life Regression class last Tuesday, 8/27 and wanted to say Thanks!
A few months ago I had an unpleasant job experience and chose to leave the company. As it usually turns out, this situation was a blessing. I was forced to re-examine my career choice as well as other areas of my life. Over the past few months I’ve had many revelations and self-discoveries. However, all this new information can be overwhelming and cause anxiety. (Along with people saying “What! You quit your job in this economy?”).
The night after taking your class, I had a splitting headache probably caused by anxiety. I decided to try your relaxation technique you taught us to see what I could do about this. I went to my couch, got into a comfortable position and began to put myself into a deep state of relaxation. I then began to ask myself to picture a great career option. I tried to talk to myself as you had done in our class – very encouraging and gentle.
When I opened my eyes I was amazed that over an hour had gone by. Even more amazing was that my headache was completely gone and I came up with a creative career possibility. I feel that your class expanded my mind and opened up a new door for me.
Also, my goal is to live more in harmony with my soul. I was on a spiritual path even before my job crisis and always try to remain open to new possibilities. My lesson in the first regression during class was to let other people into my life to help me more. And there you were doing just that! Isn’t it amazing how the universe gives us what we need at just the right time? I love synchronicity!
So again, thank you very very much for your inspiration……..
P.S. I read your touching story “In the Name of Mother”. My Mother also died 7 years ago of Hepatitis C and Cancer (lymphoma). A quote came to mind that I hadn’t thought of in awhile: “Youth fades, love droops, the leaves of friendship may fall, a Mother’s love outlives them all.”
It has been over one year since I smoked my last cigarette. Thank you for saving my life.
My name is Betty and I am the youngest daughter of Louise. My mom died September 9. When she went into the hospital for the last time, she made sure that she packed the meditations which you had given her. I wanted to let you know that as we sat with my mother on the day she died, I was reciting your meditations to her. As I read, she was squeezing my sister’s hand (I believe to let us know that she heard us). I thank you for all the comfort you brought my mom.
Last night was an excellent session Thanks to your awesome skill, I am feeling much improved and confident that I will reach my goals. Thank you, Thank you,
After one session with Dr. Stone, my son’ grades went from Ds and Fs to As and Bs. Because of Dr. Stone’ help, my son was able to get into the high school he wanted to attend.
P.S. My husband is a clinical psychologist and psychology professor. He was amazed by our son’ progress.
We hold you in the highest esteem. You are truly a caring, dedicated, genuine, professional and an unbelievably talented hypnotherapist.
The insights I gained in my hypnosis about my anorexia, weight gain and the relationship with my mother and food were momentous, staggering, mind-boggling.
Thank you so much for the weight loss images and suggestions. I truly appreciate what you are doing for me. It’s been two weeks, and I feel like a much better person. Thank you again. Hugs.
t is with great thanks and sincere appreciation that I am writing you this note. Today is my one year anniversary of quitting smoking. Last year on this date I attended your seminar at the Discovery Center. I came home that night and threw out my cigarettes and my ashtrays and have never smoked again. I found your CD to be invaluable. I listened to it twice a day for six months. It really helped.
I am a nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at _______ Hospital, and I should have known better. So many people come in with massive heart attacks and although many of these people were young and relatively healthy, the common denominator was always cigarette smoking. I also lost my aunt and good friend from high school to lung cancer in the last year.
Keep up the good work, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully I will be an ex-smoker 10 years from now.
I was fascinated by your presentation. It was so well delivered that you commanded the rapt attention of the students.
The feedback from the class was surprising. At the next class we heard that one woman who had not slept well in years slept through the night and woke up refreshed. The person going into the interview, got the internship. There was more feedback, including plans by at least one student to make her own self-hypnosis tape. All told, I think you made quite a difference to the students in the class. Again, thanks for your time and caring to come in and contribute to our individual and collective development.
